Quote from Samuel Adams

Yesterday, I heard a quote on talk radio. I found it particularly relevant given today’s world. Here it is:

“It does not take a majority to prevail…but rather an irate, tireless minority, keen on setting brushfires of freedom in the minds of men.” - Samuel Adams

Those of us who remain lovers of liberty would do well to keep this comment in our hearts.

Connecticut Allows Homosexual Marriages

I know that many reading this blog will vehemently disagree with me on this one, but I have no problem with this. I do not think that it is the government’s responsibility to decide who is allowed to marry and who is not. Furthermore, it is a disgrace for the government to even consider the issue. With all this talk about “defining marriage as being between one man and one woman,” everyone has forgotten to real definition. Marriage is an intrinsically religious institution, and I definitely do not think that the government should be involving itself in religious institutions. Isn’t there supposed to be a separation of church and state? Guess not.

Additionally, I believe that the government only has the right to intervene in someone’s life when that person is going to infringe on another’s right to life, liberty, or property. I have yet to have anyone explain to me how a pair of homosexuals choosing to get married violates this concept.

Lastly, I do think that all of this controversy is unnecessary. The concept that the government must collect a fee and rubber stamp a license in order to somehow validate a marriage is appallingly stupid. I think many will reply that the purpose of the government validation is to allow for certain benefits, but I simply think that these decisions should be left up to the private companies that are offering the benefits or writing the insurance policies; however, I do think legislation enabling the joint filing of taxes for homosexual couples should be enacted.

Obamessiah Chooses Rahm Emanuel for Chief of Staff

Obama’s choice for White House Chief of Staff is particularly disturbing. Not only is he a complete moran, but he served on the board of directors for Freddie Mac during the time period when they were engaged in questionable activities, but he wrote in his book that he supports reinstutiting slavery.

Yes, folks, you read that correctly. Well, maybe you should read it again just to make sure it sinks in. He thinks that all citizens should have to perform compulsory community service.

Speaking of Moran,

Congressman Jim Moran of Virginia made the asinine remark that in his words, it is a “simplistic notion that people who have wealth are entitiled to keep it.” Excuse me?!

Did you enjoy this post? If so, how about buying me a beer? Like all real men, I find cheap beer disgusting, so let's say $5 for premium.
